a collage of thoughts, reflections & articles relevant to supporting white people (who are committed to a better day for all) in seeing the larger story of history - from how it was, to how it has come to be today and how it might be different tomorrow if we ourselves are willing to be different.
This is a list of all of Liam Hogan's work on the "Irish slaves" meme. What he's sharing is a controversial questioning of history which feels important as a particular piece of the #BlackLivesMatter vs. #AllLivesMatter debate.
I can't say that I understand the history well enough to agree or disagree with Liam's assertions but it feels important to consider and make sure we are speaking accurately about history to honour it. If we don't, then history can be used to dismiss the experience of black people who certainly endured a history of slavery.
